Export of sugar (TN VED code 1701) for January-September 2021 is 2.6 thousand tons, which is 37 times less than in the same period last year (98 thousand tons).

This is reported by the Scientific and Practical Center for Sugar Beet Production with reference to the data of the State Customs Service.

As noted, since the beginning of 2021/22 MY (September-August) external supplies amounted to 367 tons, which is also ten times less than 16.2 thousand tons exported in the first month of 2020/21 MY.

The largest importing countries of Ukrainian sugar from all exports (in monetary terms) in January-September 2021 were Israel (36.06%), Germany (25.38%), Moldova (14.98%).

Import of sugar (TN VED 1701) in January-September 2021 amounted to 163.3 thousand tons (September – 111 tons). The largest sugar exporting countries to Ukraine from all imports (in monetary terms) were: Brazil (73.18%), Poland (17.23%), Belgium (2.75%).

Import of other sugars for the specified period (HS code 1702) is almost 22 thousand tons, export – 36 thousand tons.

The export of molasses is 762 tons (Israel imported 89.29%), and the import for the corresponding period is 4.4 thousand tons.
