French company bought the largest Ukrainian cheese producer
Lactalis hopes to expand its business in Ukraine through the purchase of Shostka TM and others.
The French dairy corporation Lactalis Group has completed the purchase of the Bel Group corporation's business in Germany, Italy, and Ukraine, including the European brand Leerdammer and the largest Ukrainian cheese producer Bel Shostka Ukraine (TM Shostka, Veselaya Korovka, Kiri).
According to the Bel Group, the agreement ended on September 30.
"All preliminary conditions of the deal have been met, including the unconditional approval of the merger received from the European Commission on August 26," the statement said.
At the same time, the amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
It is noted that the acquisition of Bel Shostka Ukraine will allow the French Lactalis to expand its Ukrainian business, where the company has been operating for the past 25 years.

In Ukraine, it owns two milk processing plants in the Nikolaev and Dnepropetrovsk regions. The company manufactures products under the brands President, Lactel, Galbani, Societe, Dolce, Fanny, Lactonia, Loko Moko, etc.
