The largest buyer of Ukrainian vegetable oil is Europe
In 2020, Europe bought more products from sunflower seeds and other oilseeds (mustard, flax, soybeans and rapeseed) grown in Ukraine. Alexandra Avramenko, the head of the analytical export group UBTA, spoke about this during the presentation of the fifth "Agrarian Portfolio - 2021".
"Agrarian Portfolio - 2021" is being implemented at the initiative of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine together with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and with the support of the Ukrainian Business and Trade Association (UBTA).
According to her, Europe ranks first among connoisseurs of Ukrainian sunflower oil and oilseed products, because it was the European countries that bought 68.8% of Ukrainian oilseed exports in 2020 (the EU - 68.1%). The countries of the Middle East confidently took the second place, which bought 17.8% of oil export products produced in Ukraine.
Other countries of the world have divided the rest of the places among themselves, however, the indicators of Ukrainian exports of oilseeds do not cross 10% there, and even the EAEU countries consume only 7.9% of exports in this sector, other regions, for example Africa - only 2.7%).
It should be noted that 1186 exporters sell Ukrainian oilseeds in the world markets, supplying products to 92 export markets.
