Winter crops in Ukraine are left to sow less than 20% of the area

According to the operational data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, as of October 25, in general, 6.5 million hectares were sown with winter crops in Ukraine, which is 83% of the forecasted area. At the same time, in four regions of Ukraine – Sumy, Poltava, Volyn and Ternopil – the sowing campaign has already been completed, the press service of the ministry said on October 26.
“The bulk of the sown area is wheat – 5.7 million hectares, or 85% of the forecast. 983 thousand hectares (67%) were sown with barley, 150 thousand hectares (93%) with rye,” the message says.
As for winter rapeseed, by October 18, they planted 1 million hectares, or 98% of the forecast.
"The sowing of oilseeds in 19 regions of Ukraine has been fully completed, while in the Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions the areas sown with rapeseed have exceeded the forecasted level," the press service added.
