In Ukraine, a large harvest of apples is expected and prices for them will decline to the level of 2019.

A strong apple harvest this year is pushing prices back to pre-pandemic levels.

Taras Bashtannik, President of the Ukrainian Association of Fruit and Vegetable Producers, predicts that not only in Ukraine, but also in many European countries, there will be an excess of apples.

This means that the prices for apples will fall to the level of 2019, when fruits cost about 7 UAH per kilogram. This price differs significantly from the prices of 2020, when fruit growers sold apples of the highest quality at a price of 35 UAH per kilogram.

Ukrainian apple producers successfully ship fruit to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the EU and Singapore.

True, it is much easier to send crops to European countries, since convenient road transport logistics have been created in this direction. Delivering fruit to Asian and Arab countries is more difficult because sea shipping poses many challenges. This process takes a long time and requires special storage of the fruit, which increases the cost of the entire operation.
