Ukraine has increased the export of rye by 24 times
Ukraine, according to the State Customs Service, exported 42.6 thousand tons of rye in the amount of $ 12.2 million in July-September 2020/21 marketing year, which is 24 times higher than the shipped volume for the same period last season in physical terms (1, 7 thousand tons) and 6 times – in monetary terms ($ 2.1 million).

“The key importer of rye of Ukrainian origin in the first 3 months of the season was Poland, which purchased 18.4 thousand tons of grain, or 43% of the total shipped volume,” the report says.
The second position is taken by Turkey, which imported 10.9 thousand tons of Ukrainian rye, or 26% of all consignments during the specified period. It is noted that the shipment of grain from Ukraine to Turkey resumed in September after a long break (from May 2009).

According to analysts, the export potential of rye in Ukraine in 2021/22 MY is estimated at 75 thousand tons (an increase of 4 times compared to 2020/21 MY) with the projected crop production at 586.6 thousand tons (+ 28% to the result season 2020/21). Thus, in the first three months of the season, it has already been implemented by 57%.
Recall that as of October 6, the export of Ukrainian grains, legumes and flour in the 2021/22 marketing year reached 15,002 thousand tons, which is 2,252 thousand tons more than in the same period last year.
