Sunflower yield in the agricultural season-2021 in Ukraine is 15% higher than last year
As of October 13, 2021, Ukraine harvested 10.9 million tons of sunflower from an area of 4.72 million hectares (73% to the forecast). The average yield is 2.31 t/ha, which is 15% higher than last year.
Recall that as of the third decade of October 2020, Ukrainian agricultural producers harvested 11,640,000 tons of sunflower from an area of 5,900,000 hectares (92% of the forecast). The average yield was 1.97 t/ha, which is 0.34 t/ha (15%) lower than the current figure.
The current leaders in terms of sunflower yield among the regions of Ukraine are Khmelnitskaya – 3.43 t/ha (now it has collected 195.4 thousand tons from an area of 57 thousand hectares – 35% to the forecast), Ivano-Frankivsk – 3.2 t/ha. ha (collected 61.1 thousand tons from an area of 19.1 thousand hectares – 60% to the forecast) and Ternopil region – 3.07 t/ha (collected 92.3 thousand tons from an area of 30.1 thousand hectares – 36 % to the forecast).
Most of the sunflower among the regions of Ukraine was harvested in the Kirovograd region – 1.09 million tons, Dnepropetrovsk – 903.5 thousand tons and Nikolaev – 876.3 thousand tons.
