Sowing of winter crops completed in two regions
As of October 18, 2021, Ukrainian agrarians sowed 5.7 million hectares of winter grain crops, or 72% of the forecast. The leaders in terms of the rate of sowing of winter grain crops are the farmers of the Sumy and Poltava regions, who have completed the sowing of the winter wedge.
Wheat has been sown on 5 million hectares, or 75% of the forecast.
511 thousand hectares of barley have been sown, or 50% of the forecast. The agrarians of Volhynia have already completed its sowing; agricultural producers of Chernihiv, Lviv and Transcarpathia are close to this.
Rye has been sown on 139 thousand hectares, or 86% of the forecast. In the Vinnitsa, Nikolaev, Poltava and Kherson regions, its sowing has already been completed. Volyn, Sumy, Chernigov and a number of other regions are close to completion.
In addition, 1 million tons of hectares of winter rapeseed have been sown in Ukraine, which is 98% of the forecast. The agrarians of 18 regions have completely completed the sowing of rapeseed, while the Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions have exceeded the forecasted indicators.
