A giant watermelon was grown in the Kherson region
"Sweet miracle" - this is how they call their own brand name in the Kherson region - the Kherson watermelon. Traditionally, the largest watermelon was determined at the festival. This year the weight of the winner watermelon reached 37.7 kilograms. The largest melon was also chosen, weighing 7.1 kg.
Weighing of watermelons and melons took place in the framework of the XVIII All-Ukrainian festival "Ukrainian watermelon - a sweet miracle", which took place in the town of Golaya Priestan in the Kherson region.
The program of the event for the guests included interesting entertainments and master classes, including a master class on watermelon carving (carving on watermelons), and a whistle for watermelon carving. And, of course, a taste of various varieties of striped berries from producers from all over the region.
Reference. The festival was founded in 2003 and since then has existed even far beyond the borders of the Kherson region. In the town of Golaya Pristan, a concrete monument to a watermelon was erected, 1.75 meters high and 1.2 meters wide.
