In Ukraine, grain elevators refuse to take grain for storage

Today, grain elevators refuse to take grain for storage from outside depositors, since it needs to be dried. Since the price of gas may rise even more, the elevators cannot determine the prices for services.
According to him, small farmers who do not have their own dryers and warehouses are forced to sell the entire crop at once, since it is unprofitable to transport grain to more distant elevators.
“People just donate grain because there are no other options. Previously, farmers sold part of the harvest, and left part for storage. And now we have been placed within such limits that there is no storage. Sell at the price you have now – sell, ”says farmer Pavel from the Kirovograd region.
He added that a similar problem exists not only in the Kirovograd region.
“Friends also said that one of the elevator networks is also reluctant to take grain for storage due to gas prices. I will not name the company. She works throughout Ukraine. They will store their own grain, because there is nowhere to go, and someone else's – why should they take and risk it? ”– said the farmer.
