Ukrainian farmers have already harvested the largest buckwheat crop in the past few years, although the harvest of this crop is still ongoing.

This was announced by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Roman Leshchenko in his Telegram channel.

“There is the largest harvest of buckwheat over the past few years. Two months ago our forecasts were at the level of 100 thousand tons. And already today, being at the finish line, but still crossing it, the agrarians have threshed 107 thousand tons of grain,” Leshchenko wrote.

According to the minister, the harvesting of buckwheat was completed only in 15 regions on 94% of the sown area. The highest yield was recorded in the Vinnytsia region – 1.59 t / ha.

“Therefore, our updated forecasts amount to more than 110 thousand tons,” the minister said.

Roman Leshchenko also addressed those who speculate on the topic of food security and noted that Ukrainians are fully provided with grain and buckwheat.
