Chicken with salmonella was brought to Ukraine from Poland again

A consignment of salmonella-contaminated chicken was brought to Ukraine from Poland. In total, the supplier exported 1,600 kg of meat, which may already be on the market. This is not the first such case.

The producer of salmonella meat is Cedrob S.A., registered in Ciechanów. It is stored in the warehouses of AMP Logistika in Plonsk. And in Ukraine, it was received by the company "Winter", after which it was delivered to Odesa, reports the State Service of the Odesa region.

Infected chicken was delivered all over Ukraine

The State Service of the Mykolaiv region on October 20 reported the discovery of chicken with salmonellosis from the Cedrob S.A. company, which arrived with the same batch that was found in Odesa.

A similar case occurred in the Zaporizhzhia region. The local State Consumer Service announced the arrival on its territory of a dangerous batch of chicken produced by Cedrob S.A.

Chicken with salmonellosis was imported before

Earlier, chicken meat contaminated with salmonella from Cedrob S.A. had already been imported to Ukraine. For example, such a story happened in 2020. Then the meat was found in the same Mykolaiv region.

And in 2019, such chicken was found in the Ternopil region.

"Salmonella was found in chilled chicken brisket exported from Poland (manufactured by Cedrob S.A.)," the terminovo newspaper reported at the time.

What is this company?

Cedrob S.A. – a large producer of chicken meat. The company started its activities in the 1990s. It currently employs over 6 thousand people.

In addition, Cedrob S.A. includes German and Ukrainian companies. And its meat, perhaps, is also contaminated with salmonella, it imports to many European countries – Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Great Britain, France, etc.

By the way, according to pigua.info, a large outbreak of African swine fever was recorded in Poland. The disease has already been discovered in 112 pig farms.

In the first 5 months of 2021, outbreaks of the disease were sporadic. After the warm weather, African swine fever began to spread rapidly, peaking in September.
