In Ukraine, the cost of ammonium sulfate and carbamide decreased by 2000 UAH/t
Since the beginning of February, the cost of ammonium sulfate and carbamide has decreased by about 2 thousand UAH/t. Similar processes are taking place in the market for ammonium nitrate and UAN, but due to the concentration of demand, prices have declined less significantly here. Sergey Ruban, marketing director of UMF, spoke about this in the material “Fly on - it's cheaper! Will fertilizer prices return to 2020 levels? at Latifundust.com.
“The main reason for the decline in prices for individual fertilizers is restrained demand and high supply of domestic and imported products. This is a positive development, demonstrating that a competitive market for mineral fertilizers has formed in Ukraine,” the specialist said.
In his opinion, the current situation favors fertilizer buyers. It is possible that the depth of correction may be 30%, but not in all markets and not for all fertilizers. It is quite difficult to predict the price situation in the future.
“Given political and epidemiological risks, long-term forecasting is even more problematic. The world is unstable, and as in any unstable environment, it is necessary to follow the "windows" of emerging opportunities. In particular, in terms of prices for fertilizers,” Sergey Ruban emphasized.
Recall that a new price list for the most popular mineral fertilizers in Ukraine was recently published. Meanwhile, on the international market, the cost of nitrogen fertilizers is rising.
