In order to increase the transparency of the land market, Ukraine plans to create a system of automated monitoring of land relations of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. The press service said that the ministry, with the support of the EU and the World Bank, is already working on the development of automated monitoring of land relations.
"The Ministry of Agriculture strengthens this area of work with a separate analytical product based on Monitoring - a review of the state of land relations in Ukraine as an analytical platform and detailed coverage of some important issues of functioning and reform of land relations in Ukraine," said Taras Dzioba, Deputy Minister.
The State Service for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre and the Center for Food and Land Use Research of the Kyiv School of Economics are working on the project together with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
"The more we know about market prices, the better the deals, and the less room there is for opaque things. The law provides for mandatory registration of land prices. But currently only 54% of transactions have a fixed price in the State Register of Real Property Rights," said Oleg Nivyevsky, head of the KSE Center for Food and Land Use Research.
