Saudi Arabia introduced seafood from Ukraine to its market
The competent authorities of Ukraine and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have agreed on the form of the certificate for products exported from Ukraine originating from aquatic animals (caviar, seafood, etc.).
The specified form of the certificate comes into force on December 1, 2021, the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection said in a statement.
“The market of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is extremely important for Ukraine. Every year our exporters get more and more opportunities on it. This applies to producers of meat, milk, honey, eggs. Now Ukrainian producers have received the desired opportunity to export products derived from aquatic animals to the kingdom. Specifically, we expect the export of Ukrainian-made black caviar to Saudi Arabia, ”said Vladislava Magaletskaya, head of the State Food and Consumer Service.
According to the procedure determined by the competent authority of the KSA, potential exporters must undergo an accreditation procedure in order to be eligible to export products for human consumption.
Guidelines and explanations for the export of food products to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are published on the official web portal of the State Food and Consumer Service in the section "International cooperation" – "Veterinary and safety" – "Requirements of the countries of the world" – "Background information on export to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia"
