The Cabinet of Ministers has set the minimum prices for plastic bags: they will start from February 1
From March 10, 2022, a ban on the distribution of plastic bags in shops and catering establishments will come into force in Ukraine.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the minimum retail price for single-use plastic bags. From February 1, new prices will begin to operate in the country's stores.
BAM reports this with reference to the relevant decision of the Cabinet of Ministers. It is known that in this way the government plans to reduce the use of plastic bags and stimulate the use of reusable bags, which, in turn, should affect the country's ecology.
So the minimum prices for bags with walls more than 50 microns thick, intended for packaging the transportation of goods:
- UAH 2.00 - bag without handles and side folds;
- UAH 2.50 - a package without handles, but with side folds or with handles without side folds;
- UAH 3.00 - a bag with handles and side folds.
In addition, from March of this year, Ukraine will begin to ban the distribution of ultra-thin (with walls less than 15 micrometers), thin (with walls from 15 to 50 micrometers) and oxo-complex plastic bags in stores and public catering.
