Two tasks of the government for irrigation of agricultural lands in 2022 were announced
In 2022, the government must fulfill two important tasks of irrigation and reclamation of agricultural land. The editor-in-chief of the publication Natalya Belousova announced this in a blog on AgroPolit.com.
The first is to adopt draft law 5202-d "On Water User Organizations (UWC) and Stimulation of Hydraulic Land Reclamation". It creates conditions for the emergence of non-commercial organizations of water users (associations of farmers), which will receive objects of reclamation systems. At their own expense, they will repair, modernize and build new irrigation systems. They are given the right to determine the schedule and volumes of water supply for irrigation, as well as tariffs for irrigation services.
The second is to launch projects to restore irrigation networks in Odessa, Kherson, Nikolaev and Zaporozhye regions. This project will be dealt with by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy. It is it that will introduce the restoration of the reclamation industry within the framework of the national project until 2024. And the MEDT will be generally responsible for the development of the irrigation system.
