The first hundred food producers bought gas at reduced prices
On January 17, the first auctions were held for the sale of gas of own production for enterprises engaged in the production of socially important food products.
This was written by the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
It is reported that 1,346 thousand m3 of natural gas of own production was sold at the auction. The first 100 producers of various forms of ownership were admitted to the auction, mainly bread producers.
Consequently, six gas producing companies became sellers of natural gas, which put up for sale from 1,000 m3 to 50,000 m3.
It is noted that a total of 137 lots were presented with starting prices from UAH 6,154 to UAH 17,770 per thousand m3. The weighted average price formed as a result of the auction is UAH 11,600. per thousand m3.
The Ministry of Economy adds that the delivery time for natural gas is set until 01/31/2022, subject to 100% prepayment.
As reported, on December 30, 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution obliging gas producing companies to sell on the stock exchange 20% of the gas produced in Ukraine during the quarantine period, but no longer than until May 1, 2022. Also, the resolution limits the price of Ukrainian gas within 24%.
Producers of food products of significant social importance are allowed to participate in special natural gas auctions. The list of such companies is approved by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
Recall that a decrease in the retail margin for products can lead to empty shelves. The expert notes that the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, which establishes a trade markup of 10% for socially significant products, has no prospects for effective implementation.
