Russia starts war with Ukraine, martial law declared
Around 5 am on February 24, Kiev time, Vladimir Putin in a new address announced a "special military operation" in Ukraine. At the same time, the Russian Federation began shelling Ukrainian cities.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed Decree No. 64/2022 "On the introduction of martial law in Ukraine". People's deputies approved this document by 300 votes.

According to the decree, martial law is introduced from 5:30 on February 24, 2022 for a period of 30 days. This decision was made in connection with the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and on the basis of the proposal of the National Security and Defense Council and in accordance with Ukrainian legislation.
On the border of the battles, the Armed Forces of Ukraine cause damage to the equipment and aircraft of the invaders, Kyiv severed relations with Moscow.
