Due to the rise in the price of food, which occurs due to the jump in prices for Russian gas, the President's Office is considering how to make life easier for Ukrainians who cannot afford to eat normally: they are considering the idea of introducing food cards in Ukraine. This was stated by the presidential adviser on economic issues Oleg Ustenko, reports interfax.com.ua.
He added that, as anti-crisis measures, various additional payments to unprotected segments of the population can be considered, including payments similar to the current "Support" program, within which vaccinated Ukrainians can receive UAH 1,000 and spend it for specific purposes.
“In the OP, the position is more than clear: first of all, the most vulnerable and unprotected segments of the population should receive support. How - options will be considered. This can be both additional payments to compensate for price increases, and the introduction of a food stamp in the Action system - such as grocery checks, as is practiced in the United States. But these are anti-crisis measures that can be introduced as needed, ”explained Ustenko.
