Ukraine has powerfully increased the import of whey

Imports of whey to Ukraine in January 2022 increased by 3.8 times, compared to the same period last year - up to 1.2 thousand tons.

This was reported in the State Customs Service.

Ukraine spent $12.3 million on the purchase of these goods abroad, which is 2.7 times more than in January 2021.

The largest whey suppliers to Ukraine during the first month of 2022 were Poland ($562 thousand), Belarus ($318 thousand) and Germany ($152.4 thousand).

Meanwhile, in January of this year, Ukraine exported 55.9% less whey than in the same period last year - 828.9 tons.

In monetary terms, exports decreased by 37.1% compared to January 2021, to $998.8 thousand.

This year, the list of the largest buyers of Ukrainian whey has undergone significant changes. Most actively in January 2022, it was bought by Malaysia ($172.5 thousand), Pakistan ($119.5 thousand) and China ($115 thousand). A year ago, China imported almost half of the volume.
