The State Service has discovered a dangerous allergen in buckwheat brought to Kharkiv from Russia. The dangerous cargo was in the wagons at the Volchansk station. This was reported by the press service of the State Food and Consumer Service in the Kharkiv region.

"When carrying out phytosanitary control of a cargo with buckwheat, in the amount of 130.78 tons, which arrived at the Volchansk railway station of the Southern Railway Regional Branch of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC from the Russian Federation, a regulated pest was found Ambrosia artemisiifolsa L.”, - the message says.

Phytosanitary procedures were applied to the cargo. The inspectors drew up a protocol.

Ambrose polynolista causes an allergic reaction if it enters the respiratory tract of a person. It causes inflammation of the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract and attacks of bronchial asthma.
