Bukovina Nucleus will install a milk station for feeding piglets

LLC "Genetik-Invest" (Chernivtsi region), which breeds breeding pigs of Danish genetics, plans to install a dairy station for feeding piglets with milk substitutes, as well as work out a system of stepmother sows.

The owner of "Genetik-Invest" Maxim Machek told about this in an interview with The Ukrainian Farmer magazine.

“We take the work of the best farms in Denmark as a model, where milk stations are located in separate rooms, milk is supplied by a pipeline to each nest, and through a small drinking bowl all piglets consume such a drink in addition to mother's milk,” he said.

This can significantly reduce the loss of suckling piglets and increase the weight of the nests at weaning.

“Even today, our piglets are gaining weight quickly and feel great,” added Maksim Machek.
