Under the state program, beekeepers can receive a subsidy of UAH 200 per bee colony. Stepan Vintonovych, Deputy Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, spoke about this. According to Ivan Yusk, head of the Prykarpattia Union of Beekeepers, last year more than a thousand beekeepers from the Ivano-Frankivsk region received a subsidy from the state budget.

Beekeepers from 10 to 300 bee families live on state budget subsidies. For one from the state budget allocate 200 UAH. The amount of assistance may not exceed UAH 60,000.

"The beekeeper applies to the local government and submits a minimum package of documents: copies of passport, identification code, apiary passport, registration of apiary capacity," - said Deputy Director of the Regional Department of APR Stepan Vintonovich.

According to the head of the public organization "Union of Beekeepers of Prykarpattia" Ivan Yusk, last year more than 1,000 beekeepers of the region received a subsidy.

"Even non-professionals - amateurs - those with 10-15 bee families received help. Although this is not a large amount. Frankly speaking, this is not enough to keep bees,” says Ivan Yusko.

The head of the Prykarpattia Union of Beekeepers hopes that this year more beekeepers will apply for a grant than last year. This, in particular, motivates them to register apiaries.

"I know that many people did not apply last year because they did not believe, firstly, that they would give these subsidies, and, secondly, they are still afraid that the state will come and tax their economy. Therefore, they do not register yet. But it happens all over the civilized world, because registration is mandatory," Ivan Yusko said.

Beekeepers can apply for a grant until October 1, 2021.
