An outbreak of ASF in the wild fauna was recorded in the Chernihiv region

On January 24, the African swine fever (ASF) virus was detected in a wild boar on the territory of the hunting ground of Dobryankainvestlis LLC (Chernigov district, Chernigov region). It was shot as part of monitoring studies.
This was reported in the Main Directorate of the State Food and Consumer Service in the Chernihiv region.
According to the approved plan, measures are being taken to eliminate and prevent the spread of ASF. So, on January 31, 9 wild boars were shot in the fire, the carcasses of which were burned.
As reported, in Ukraine in 2021, 1.75 times fewer cases of ASF were registered. Meanwhile, in Germany, more than 3,000 wild boars are infected with the ASF virus.
