The Ministry of Agrarian Policy named steps for the development of horse breeding in Ukraine
On November 14, chaired by the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky, a meeting of the working group to promote the development of the horse breeding industry took place. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences, the State Border Guard Service, the State Enterprise "Horse Breeding of Ukraine", specialized associations, as well as regional state administrations.
“Of course, horse breeding as an industry should develop. First of all, there should be a set of measures - this is development in breeding, breeding of new breeds, government support of the industry, popularization of horses in the domestic and foreign markets through exhibitions, auctions, horse performances at international competitions, ”said Taras Vysotsky.
The meeting participants discussed problematic issues in the field of horse breeding, in particular, regarding the need to amend the regulatory legal acts relating to horse breeding and the need to adapt them to international requirements, as well as the issues of moving horses on the territory of Ukraine and temporary import / export abroad to participate in competitions.
A number of issues were also raised concerning veterinary and antiepizootic measures in horse breeding, the problems of training and training of specialists for testing and training horses.
In addition, further steps and key issues that will be brought up to the next meeting were discussed.
