In Ukraine, the number of all types of farm animals has decreased
As of October 1, 2021, the livestock of the main types of farm animals in Ukraine decreased by 1.7-6.7% compared to the same date in 2020.
This is reported by Agribusiness with reference to the data of the State Statistics Service.
It is noted that as of the reporting date, the number of cattle (cattle) in Ukraine amounted to 3.11 million heads (6.7% less than on October 1, 2020): agricultural enterprises held about 1.0 million heads of cattle (1.2% less), household farms – 2.11 million heads (9.1% less). In particular, there were 1.64 million cows in Ukraine as of October 1, 2021 (5.9% less than on October 1, 2020): 421.7 thousand – in agricultural enterprises (0.1% less) and 1.22 million – in households (7.8% less).
It is also informed that as of the indicated date, there were 6.07 million pigs (1.7% less than on October 1, 2020): 3.71 million heads in agricultural enterprises (3.6% more) and 2.36 million heads in households (8.9% less).
In addition, on October 1 of this year, 1.30 million sheep and goats were kept in the country (5.3% less than a year earlier): 162.0 thousand heads of agricultural enterprises (7.4% more) and 1.13 million heads of households of the population (6.9% less).
The number of poultry from October 1, 2020 to October 1, 2021 decreased by 1.8% – to 234.03 million heads: in agricultural enterprises, it decreased by 1.7% (to 118.36 million heads), in households – by 2.0% (up to 115.67 million heads).
