Minaqu Indonesia, a supplier of native Indonesian ornamental plants, plans to produce black soldier fly larvae. They have functional value for aquaculture and animal husbandry.

It is reported by Feedlot.

The company sees demand for the growing black soldier fly.

"We receive orders up to 37 tons per month from the local market, but now we can only supply 5 tons per month," said Ade Vardhana Adinata, CEO of Minaqu Indonesia.

As reported, a pilot project is under way in Australia to use black soldier fly meal as a feed ingredient for pigs.
