Agricultural producers of the Kharkiv region, as of October 4, sowed winter crops on an area of ​​176.7 thousand hectares, or 31% of the forecast.

This is stated in the message of the Department of Agroindustrial Development of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.

So in the region sown: wheat on an area of ​​171.5 thousand hectares (31%), barley – 4.4 thousand hectares (31%), rye – 0.8 thousand hectares (35%).

In addition, the sowing of winter rape has been completed in the region, in fact, 5.8 thousand hectares have been sown, which is 104% of the forecast.

“A positive factor last week was the end of the rainless period in most of the region, which contributed to the accumulation of moisture in the soil for sowing winter crops. But the rains were distributed extremely unevenly, therefore, ground drought continued to abstain in the central and eastern regions of the region,” the Regional State Administration emphasizes.
