The decline in sunflower oil production in September-October 2021/22 MY was 13.5% compared to the corresponding period of the last season.

This was reported by the Ukrmasloprom association with reference to the State Statistics Service.

“This is due to the suppression of sales of sunflower seeds by agricultural producers in anticipation of an increase in prices for this raw material, which is confirmed by a significant increase in stocks of sunflower producers and a decrease in sunflower oil exports during this period by 14.2%,” the association noted.

The experts clarified that the stocks of sunflower oil at the enterprises alone exceeded 138 thousand tons (over 34% of the internal annual use).

"The price situation in the domestic market is stable, the orders of the trading network are being fulfilled in full, sunflower oil is present in a wide range," the association added.

In September-October, there is an increase in the production of soybean oil and meal, respectively, by 14.7% and 21.7%. The production of rapeseed oil has significantly increased - by 59.1% (July-October 2021/22 MY), according to Ukroliyaprom.

“On the forecast of vegetable oils production in 2021/22 MY, significant growth is forecasted in comparison with 2020/21 MY. In particular, for sunflower oil - more than 24%, ”analysts predict.

Thus, the association predicts that the production of sunflower oil in the current season will reach 7.2 million tons, soybean oil - 0.27 million tons, rapeseed oil - 0.23 million tons.
