New Year's table for Ukrainians will rise in price by 20% - expert
New Year's table -2022 for Ukrainians will rise in price by 20%.
This was announced by the head of the Union of Ukrainian Peasantry Ivan Tomich in a commentary on GolosUA.
“Compared to last year, the New Year's table, on average, will rise in price by 16-20%. That is, Ukrainians will need to overpay by 20% in order to set the table, like last year, ”I. Tomich said.
According to him, meat and vegetables will rise in price the most by the new year.
“Tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers will rise in price by 20% by the new year. Vegetables of the borsch set will also grow in price. Although beets, carrots, onions, cabbage will not rise so much by the end of the year - by 10%. But onions can rise in price at a record. Compared to last year - 2.5 times. In addition, meat will rise in price. Pork by 20%, and chicken by 10%, ”concluded I. Tomich.
As a reminder, experts reported the risk of further growth in food prices ahead of the New Year holidays.
In particular, the price of bread for the year increased by an average of 18%, and cakes and pastries became more expensive by 80%. This happened because electricity is used at all stages of production - from the manufacture of flour to the manufacture of the final product.
Due to the rise in energy prices, less feed for animals and poultry was produced. This led to a reduction in the number of livestock. Prices for eggs and meat soared accordingly. During the year, pork rose in price by 4%, chicken - by 6%, beef - by 12%. Eggs have become more expensive by 8%.
Until the end of November, presumably, prices for vegetables from the borsch set will not skyrocket. Potatoes and beets will be sold at 13 hryvnia per kilogram, cabbage can be bought for 8 hryvnia, onions - for 10-11.
Also, on November 12, 2021, the National Bank of Ukraine set the official exchange rate at UAH 26.10 / USD. On the eve, this figure was 26.05 UAH / USD.
