One of the largest manufacturers of confectionery and snacks, Mondelez, will raise prices for its products due to rising costs. This is reported by biz.censor.net.
Evgeny Kapustin, Vice President for Management of the "Confectionery" category of Mondelez International in the Eastern Europe region, stated this.
"Due to inflation, we will be forced to raise prices for our products," the top manager said.
According to him, the growth of purchase prices last year reached 50%.
“It is no secret that global inflation is now a very big scourge, we see that inflation occurs in almost all product categories, this greatly affects our purchase prices. These prices have increased by 20-30% over the past year, sometimes by 50%. Considering that we do not want the quality of our products to deteriorate, we are simply forced to revise the prices of our products, because the raw materials that we buy and use have changed a lot in price,” Kapustin said.
“This is happening everywhere now. For Russia and Eastern Europe, inflation of 7-10% is a given, but now inflation is also happening in other Western markets, and for them this is basically a shock. They also buy milk at higher prices. prices, sugar, cocoa beans. Inflation is also a certain consequence of the new reality, it seems to me that in 2022 and 2023 we will all face this,” added the top manager of Mondelez.
