Today, February 21, 2022, the Phytosanitary Security Department published a report on the prevalence of mouse-like rodents in the fields of Dnepropetrovsk region, according to which there is an increase in the number and harmfulness of voles.

This was reported by the Main Directorate of the State Consumer Service in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

It is noted that the weather conditions of the 2nd decade of February were favorable for the development and distribution of mouse-like rodents. Harm is manifested on crops of winter crops, perennial grasses and non-arable lands.

“We recommend conducting a survey of agricultural land in the presence of EPS of 3-5 or more pest colonies per hectare, using biological preparations and rodenticides permitted for use in Ukraine, according to the List of Pesticides and Agrochemicals,” the report says.

In places of localization of rodents, charms are decomposed into holes with subsequent trampling. It is necessary to control from 2 to 3 times in 5-7 days. If necessary, re-apply drugs in places where pest activity is observed.

“When carrying out protective measures against mouse-like rodents, the generally accepted state sanitary rules DSP 8.8.1 and the rules of personal hygiene should be observed,” the experts concluded.

Specialists of the phytosanitary security departments selected monoliths of winter crops to determine the viability of plants. The percentage of live specimens of wheat and barley is 95-100%, dead - 0-5%.
