Blackberries need more water when pouring berries

Plant growing

Blackberries are very hygrophilous. One watering consumes 50-80 cubic meters of water per hectare. Most of all - when pouring berries.

LLC "Magister Life" in the village of Maxim Gorky in the Zaporozhye region grows blackberries on 17 hectares. Wells are used to irrigate the plantation.

According to the co-owner and director of the farm, Islam Gvaramadze, during the filling, the berries are watered up to three times a week up to 50-80 cubic meters / ha through the drip irrigation system.

“All our garden plantings are located on the territory of the former collective farm garden. Since then there have been wells. We have restored them, as well as the reservoir where we accumulate water, ”he said.

Blackberries are fed through fertigation. They use Spanish and Israeli water-soluble fertilizers.

“These fertilizers differ from others in that they contain not only basic substances in the ratio, but also microelements, biostimulants,” explained Islam Gvaramadze. - In addition to the fact that these components themselves increase the resistance of plants to pathogens, manufacturers add fungicides to some mixtures. It turns out two in one - both nutrition and protection. "
