Climate change has forced farmers from the Rivne region to completely abandon plowing
Plant growing
Climate change today is one of the most influential factors determining the technology of growing all agricultural crops. Therefore, in the farm "Mlinovskaya Chaika" in the Rivne region, the influence of climatic factors is reduced due to soil cultivation, namely, the refusal of plowing.
“Now we use only subsoilers in order to preserve the upper fertile layer and so that the microflora that populates it is constantly working,” said Mikhail Kasenich, chief agronomist of the enterprise.
The agronomist also noted that under such conditions it is important to choose the right hybrids suitable for growing in the climatic zone where the farm is located.
“For 5 years we have been buying corn seed from the Limagrain company. We grow a mid-early hybrid Adevei on 50 hectares, as well as on 100 hectares LH 30315, because they are better suited to the soil and climatic conditions of the region. They are drought-resistant and have good moisture yield. Since we sow corn very early, these hybrids are also suitable for early sowing,” added the chief agronomist.
The farm notes that LG Seeds hybrids are the most resistant to cold sowing conditions. Therefore, we decided to sow hybrids from FAO 280, which will perform better in such unfavorable weather conditions.
