Agrarians of the Vinnytsia region have already completed the collection of basic agricultural crops. The harvesting of corn for grain and sugar beet continues.

This is stated in the message of the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration.

As noted, the production of the early group of cereals in 2021 amounted to more than 2.3 million tons, including the main food crop - wheat (over 1.8 million tons). The gross harvest of wheat exceeded the last years by 33%.

“As for the collection of industrial crops, in 2021 rapeseed production increased significantly - by almost 60%. Also in the region there are good indicators for the production of sunflower seeds - more than 950 thousand tons, which is the highest gross harvest of the region for the entire period of cultivation of this crop, ”the message says.

In addition, soybean production increased by almost 65% this year. Its yield is twice as high as last year.

Buckwheat production amounted to 10.2 thousand tons.

"This year, production of grain crops, including corn, in the amount of more than 6 million tons is expected. This is one of the best harvests in the history of the Vinnytsia region," the message says.

As of November 4, 5 sugar factories in the region produced about 180 thousand tons of sugar. In 2021, sugar production is expected in the amount of 330 thousand tons, which is 25% more than last year's figures.

For the harvest of 2022, winter crops were sown in the region on an area of ​​360 thousand hectares, which corresponds to the level of 2021.
