Named the regions of Ukraine that will remain suitable for growing wheat

According to analysts' forecasts, the western and northern regions of Ukraine will be suitable for growing wheat in Ukraine in the future. This was told by the adviser for agriculture to the Embassy of France in Ukraine Lorenzo Denoyo during the events of the exhibition event "AgroSpring 2022".
”Today, 60% of Ukraine's land is under the threat of drought. Therefore, over time, wheat will become a profitable crop in the West and South, and in other regions it will be more difficult to grow this crop,” the specialist explained.
For his part, Igor Gurzhiy, Head of the Agro-Expertise Department of the Credit Agricole Agribusiness Support Department, spoke about the experience of France in regenerative agricultural production. In particular, the following measures were introduced to enrich the soil in drought conditions:
- Zero tillage;
- use of organic fertilizers;
- Clear regulation of the use of plant protection products;
- Extended crop rotation structure;
- Widespread use of green manure;
- Pasture planning;
- Combination of crop production with animal husbandry.
