The top most productive sunflower hybrids for Western Polesie are named
In the results of the "Agrarian polygon" specialists of the company "Zapad Agroprom" LLC noted high-yielding sunflower hybrids of the NuSeed, Lidea, Mas Seeds selection. The studies were carried out using different seeding rates.
This is stated in the material: "159 sunflower hybrids: yield depending on seeding rates, protection and fertilization systems in the 2021 season."
Among NuSeed hybrids, the highest yield (more than 3 t/ha) at 8% moisture was provided by: N47470 in variants with a seeding rate of 50 and 65 thousand / ha, X4219 (55 thousand / ha), N4H302 (in variants with rates of 50, 55 and 60 ), N44505 (50 respectively) and N4LM409 (55). The weight of 1000 seeds in hybrids varied from 52 to 80 g. Nature from 273 g / L in variant N4H302 (50) to 360 g / L in N4LM409 (55).
Agronomy technologist Oleg Furmanets noted that for the NuSeed selection hybrids, the seeding rate of 60 thousand / ha was quite a losing one. At the same time, they had a positive reaction to a decrease in density.
The yield index of the late-ripening hybrid Janis from Lidea varied from 2.37 t/ha (in the variant with a seeding rate of 50 thousand / ha) to 2.83 t/ha (in the variant with a seeding rate of 55). Oleg Furmanets noted the genetic reaction of the hybrid to a decrease in the seeding rate, which was marked by a change in the weight of 1000 seeds and, in parallel, an increase in nature, the maximum rate of which was noted in the variant with a rate of 55 thousand / ha.
“Looking at the yield results, you can determine a tendency: with an increase in the seeding rate to a certain limit, a decline in yield occurs. A decrease in density from 60 to 50 thousand / ha leads to an increase in yield. Nevertheless, the variant with the norm of 65 thousand / ha also demonstrates competitive results. This suggests that in a dry year, two extremes worked: either a thickened crop, which formed productivity due to the number of plants and baskets, or, on the contrary, liquefied crops, which provided the same level of productivity due to their individual productivity," explains the specialist .
An interesting tendency for the formation of high yields at a seeding rate of 65 thousand / ha was also noted in the Mas Seeds hybrids, the overwhelming majority of which provided yields at the level of more than 3 t/ha. These are: MAS 810B, MAS 87SU, Sulfonor, MAS 81K. An exception was the mid-early hybrid MAS 83SU, where the yield at the level of 3.62 t/ha was observed in the variant with the norm of 60 thousand / ha.
“As the rate decreased, the weight of 1000 seeds increased in most of the Mas Seeds hybrids. These hybrids will normally withstand thickening, at least in our sandy conditions. Moreover, for the formation of the yield, a full-fledged standing density is important for them, especially for early hybrids (MAS 810B, MAS 81K, MAS 83SU), which reacted negatively to its decrease,” added Oleg Furmanets.
