Industrial fishing in water bodies of Ukraine increased by 15%
In January-October 2021, the total industrial fishing and other aquatic biological resources in the reservoirs of Ukraine increased by 15% compared to the same period last year. This was reported by the press service of the State Fisheries Agency.
For 10 months, Ukrainian commercial fishermen caught 22 629 tons of fish and other aquatic biological resources. For the same period in 2020, this figure was 19,752 tons.
It is noted that, in particular, an increase in catch was observed in the Black Sea – 7 660 tons (+ 3.2% to the indicators of January-October 2020), in the Black Sea estuaries – 107 tons (+ 214.5%), the Danube city – 504 tons (+ 58.6%), Dnieper-Bug estuary system – 1,157 tons (+ 95.3%), Dnieper reservoirs – 9,357 tons (+ 41.4%), other reservoirs – 110 tons (+58.6 %)).
In addition, commercial fishermen caught 2,956 tons of fish and other aquatic biological resources in the Sea of Azov and 778 tons in the bottom of the Dniester city with the estuary and the Kuchurgan reservoir.
Most of all, in January-October, silver crucian carp was caught – 4 588 tons and rapan – 4 460 tons.
