The largest manufacturer of irrigation equipment plans to open production in Ukraine
The number 1 company in the world for the production of irrigation equipment Valmont Industries, known in Ukraine under the Valley brand, plans to open the production of irrigation machines in Ukraine.
The Minister of Agrarian Policy Roman Leshchenko wrote about this on the Facebook page.
It is an American manufacturer with a 75-year history of full cycle irrigation equipment manufacturing with a capitalization of more than $ 5 billion. Almost every second irrigation system in the world is their product.
Mr. Leshchenko noted that a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed with the Vice President of Valmont, Inc. Darren Sickman.
“The company knows about the successful implementation of the land reform and the start of the irrigation reform in Ukraine. It has ambitious plans to deploy its production in our country with a high level of localization: it will be able to produce and sell in Ukraine full cycle irrigation systems – from pumping stations to the latest generation of sprinklers,” the minister wrote.

He added that in the near future it is expected to adopt in the second reading the bill No. 5202-d "On organizations of water users and stimulation of hydrotechnical land reclamation", which will intensify the development of irrigation in Ukraine and accelerate investment in the private sector of the agro-industrial complex of our state.
“A strategic partner in this matter for us is the International Finance Corporation (IFC), with which in August this year in Washington we signed agreements on organizational support for the reform and the introduction of affordable financial instruments for farmers. The Ministry, for its part, continues next year a successful state program to compensate for 25% of the cost of domestically produced agricultural equipment, and is also scaling up for farmers a state program to support the commissioning of new reclamation lands, provided that the new reclamation infrastructure is manufactured at Ukrainian factories", – summed up Roman Leshchenko.
