Fendt tractors can be equipped with a self-cleaning air filter.
AGCO has developed a self-cleaning air filter available for the Fendt 900 Vario and Fendt 1000 Vario tractors.
This was reported by the Fendt press service.
“High performance Fendt tractors from 296 hp. up to 517 HP used on large farms around the world. They are very popular with customers in regions such as South America or Australia. There the soil is usually dry and a lot of dust is generated. The automatic control of our self-cleaning air filter system allows operators to do their jobs without interruption. In addition, regular automatic cleaning increases the machine's useful life, ”says AGCO / Fendt CEO Christoph Greblinghoff.
For use in regions particularly prone to dust, Fendt is the first manufacturer to offer an optional self-cleaning air filter on delivery.
The filtration system combines continuous dust extraction with active filter cleaning in a 30 second cleaning cycle. The filter is blown out on the fly to avoid downtime.
The dust filter has its own 12 bar compressed air reservoir. The compressed air flow is regulated by a solenoid or pulse valve. Before blowing out, the fan speed increases and continues to operate in this mode for some time, which improves the cleaning results.
The operator receives a message about the cleaning process on the terminal and can choose to activate it manually or fully automatically. The service life of the filter is approximately two years. The system requires a specially designed filter cartridge.
"On December 7, the international innovation commission of the German Agricultural Society (DLG) Agritechnica 2022 awarded the Fendt self-cleaning air filter system with a silver medal," the publication notes.
