In Ukraine, an increase in prices for social products is expected. The cost of basic food products of Ukrainians will rise due to the rise in energy prices, primarily gas. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal, reports the Glavkom.

According to the head of government, enterprises can no longer keep prices for their products at the same level due to the growth in the cost of all components of the technological process, and above all, the price of gas. Therefore, the cost of production has increased. And if you do not increase the price of products, then production becomes unprofitable and can be stopped altogether.

To prevent an industry from collapsing, manufacturers must be allowed to raise the prices of what the industry produces. At the same time, the authorities will make sure that they do not raise prices to the skies. Any promotion must be justified.

“The government will come out in the coming days with proposals. We are also consulting with businesses to understand the need and level of such support, ”the Prime Minister said.

Shmigal also added that the crisis affected not only the Ukrainian economy, but the entire world economy and prices are growing everywhere in the world. Today, the manufacturing sector, which is the backbone of the state's economy, is experiencing great problems and should be supported. However, the authorities will try to protect not only producers, but also consumers, whose pockets are not dimensionless. And yet, an increase in prices for food, including social products included in the daily consumer basket of Ukrainians, will be inevitable.

That is, we will consider the possibility of introducing appropriate margins on social food products, in particular, social bread, ”the prime minister said.
