Ukrzaliznytsia will develop railway crossings from the EU to maintain the export potential of Ukraine and encourages businesses to organize reloading points into EU standard wagons

JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" will at least double the capacity of the western railway border crossings with the EU countries.

As noted in a message on the UZ Telegram channel, this will increase Ukraine's export opportunities, in particular, for the transportation of agricultural products, while the enemy is blocking our main seaports.

"A working group of Ukrzaliznytsia employees has been set up for each crossing to develop and implement measures to increase the volume of traffic through border crossing points. Negotiations were held with adjacent railways to increase the volume of traffic and negotiations to speed up customs procedures," the report says.

Ukrzaliznytsia also urges businesses to organize cargo transshipment points from wagons plying along the track 1520 mm (width of tracks in Ukraine) to wagons of the track 1435 mm (most EU countries).

The company recalled that earlier Ukraine annually exported about 60 million tons of grain cargo, while about 95% of agricultural products were exported through the sea trade ports of Ukraine.

However, now only two ports of Ukraine - Izmail and Reni - can transship cargo for export, but in small quantities.
