Some Ukrainians are forced to pay taxes for foreign land
The Ukrainian received a letter from the Tax Service demanding to pay land tax for a plot that he does not own.

According to the victim, after receiving the letter, he began to search for information and found in his personal account on the website of the Tax Office that a land plot from another region was recorded on him.
“I don’t have any land in any region of Ukraine, but the Tax Office thinks otherwise and demands to pay land tax. Protect the people of Ukraine from such scammers at the state level,” the man writes.
We asked the lawyer Alexander Zinoviev about how this could happen. According to the expert, this is most likely a mistake, for example, someone's last name and initials matched. Just like that, no one will give a land plot, the lawyer assures.
Alexander Zinoviev notes that in order for a land plot to be considered yours, information about this must be in the register of ownership of the real estate.
The lawyer recommends taking an extract from this register, showing it to the Tax Office and trying to explain everything over the phone.
If the service admits a mistake without any problems, you need to ask for the appropriate written confirmation of the absence of tax debts.
However, if it is not possible to solve the problem with "little bloodshed" - do not panic, you can start the procedure for appealing the tax debt. According to the expert, an administrative appeal without a trial will suffice.
