The productivity of reclaimed lands in the humid zone as a whole can be at least doubled.

Mykola Zosimchuk, Deputy Director for Research at the Sarny Experimental Station of the IIPIM NAAS, shared these data from many years of research, writes The Ukrainian Farmer.

When selecting the most productive plastic varieties and hybrids in the Polesye zone, it is possible to consistently obtain 10-12 t/ha of corn grain, 6-7 t/ha of winter wheat, winter rye and triticale, barley, 3-3.5 t/ha of sunflower. rapeseed.

“Such results can be achieved even on poor soddy-podzolic soils - this is confirmed by the data of the agricultural landfill of Zakhidagroprom LLC in the conditions of the north of the Rivne region,” the scientist noted.

Similar yield indicators can be obtained on drained peat soils, which is confirmed by numerous long-term studies of the Sarnensky experimental station of the IIPIM NAAN.
