Scientists have voiced unexpected facts about the dangers of tangerines

Agricultural products

Many people love tangerines. They are constantly associated with the New Year and the festive mood. These fruits are delicious, juicy and refreshing, and also healthy. Mandarins contain vitamins C, B1 and B2, beta-carotene, fiber, antioxidants and many other substances. And thanks to the latter, vitamin C retains its activity longer and better.

How many tangerines can you eat?

It is believed that fruit can be eaten in unlimited quantities. But in fact, they contain a lot of glucose, which stimulates the production of insulin. If a person eats a lot of fruit (more than 300 g) at a time, insulin disrupts the breakdown of fat, and it goes to the fat depot, and the person gains weight.

If you eat tangerines in the recommended quantities (which is 250-300 g per day), fructose is not dangerous. It is advisable to distribute this rate and eat it in portions throughout the day, rather than once. But remember: the sweeter and more ripe the fruit, the more sugar it contains and the higher its glycemic index, which means that the portion should be smaller.

Which is healthier: juices or fruits?

As already noted, tangerines contain many useful substances. Yes, phytoncides are a natural antiseptic. Vitamin C accelerates tissue regeneration, increases the body's resistance to bacterial flora and infections, participates in the process of blood coagulation and has an antioxidant effect, reduces capillary permeability, and improves iron absorption. Lack of vitamin C leads to rapid fatigue, which affects overall well-being. Beta-carotene is essential for the heart muscle to function.

Fresh juices, smoothies, juicy detoxies are in fashion now, but not everyone thinks about the composition and benefits of such drinks. For example, tangerine fresh contains many organic acids, which in large quantities harm the stomach and pancreas, and destroy tooth enamel. But the fiber in juices is less than in whole fruits. In addition, the abuse of fresh juices is fraught with excess weight due to the large amount of fructose.

Fruit is best eaten rather than drunk. And if you still want freshly squeezed juice, you should choose the option that contains greens - spinach, parsley, lettuce. You can add a tangerine to such a fresh, but not more than one.

Why shouldn't tangerines be overused?

Mandarin is a citrus fruit that can cause allergic reactions if you overeat. Sour fruits are not recommended for people with diseases of the digestive system: gastritis, colitis, peptic ulcer, as well as problems with the pancreas and gall bladder. Also, pediatricians do not advise giving tangerines to children under one year old.

As a rule, the skin is treated with a special solution to extend the shelf life and protect the fruit from fungus. Therefore, it is imperative to wash the tangerines before eating. And the peel itself can be eaten only by soaking it, otherwise there is a risk of chemical poisoning.

You should not choose tangerines as a dessert: they start fermentation in the stomach and provoke bloating. Also, these fruits do not mix well with fats and proteins of meat, fish and poultry - it is better not to use them in the preparation of these dishes. In addition, acidic citrus fruits increase appetite, so it is not recommended to eat them for dinner.
