Meat made from animal cells will relieve them of suffering and save the world from the threats of climate change. Under this slogan, the American company Eat Just began the stage of capturing the alternative meat market.

Alex Lissitsa, President of the Association "Ukrainian Club of Agricultural Business", General Director of the agricultural company IMK, told about this on his Facebook page.

He stressed that this is a landmark event for the world in general, and for Ukraine in particular.

“Eat Just, which has a US presence and chicken nuggets manufacturing in Singapore, has signed a more than $ 200 million project with the Qatar Venture Fund to build an artificial meat laboratory outside Doha.

According to Josh Tetrick, founder of Eat Just, the company has already received a license to export alternative meat. It is planned that production in Qatar will reach tens of millions of kilograms of meat. Production will start shortly. The plans of the Americans are to capture the market in the entire Arabian Peninsula and in northern Africa in three years,” said Alex Lissitsa.

In his opinion, if they receive a license to export to the EU, then this, in principle, will completely change the situation on the market.

“And Ukraine can potentially lose on a global scale, because we export a significant amount of meat and basic grain crops to Saudi Arabia, northern Africa and Europe. It is obvious that now we need to look at how the market for alternative meat will develop and think about reorienting all production,” the expert summed up.
