Berry pastes are produced in Ukraine using a unique technology
A unique superfood is produced in Ukraine - berry pastes. The positive effects of these products on health have been proven by scientific research. Berry pastes are actively exported, and Canadian producers even borrowed Ukrainian technology for the production of pastes in North America. What is the secret of the popularity of useful goodies and their uniqueness? Eugenia Nechitailo, Marketing Director of LiQberry, which produces the miracle paste, told SEEDS readers.
There are no analogues to the Ukrainian superfood made from blueberries, sea buckthorn, cranberries, raspberries and other berries in the world. It's all about the production technology - HTD-technology, invented by Ukrainian scientists.
“There may be similar products on the global market. But, I can confidently say: there are no such products as those made according to Ukrainian unique technology or even more useful products. Manufacturers of jams and pastilles try to preserve all the benefits of berries or fruits as much as possible, but they fail, because in order for the product to be stored for a long time, it is usually exposed to high temperatures, frozen, or preservatives are used, which leads to a loss of the nutritional properties of the product. Thanks to our technology, we do not use high temperatures (no more than 70 degrees).
Cavitation (water hammer in a liquid medium using microbubbles) allows you not to add sugar, water or preservatives to berry pastes. Thanks to a unique technique, it was possible to crush the bones. It is in the seeds that many valuable microelements are contained, that valuable charge of energy that nature invests in seeds so that a new plant grows from them. Berry seeds are a large amount of antioxidants, Omega 3-6-9, vitamin E, polyphenols. But if you use fresh berries or, say, jam, these useful elements do not enter the body, because the bones pass through our body in transit. Thanks to cavitation, we managed, conditionally, to “release the energy” of the bones, to make it available to the human body,” says Evgenia Nechitailo.
Berry pastes are comparable to medicines or vitamin complexes. That is why they are sold not only in stores, but also in pharmacies.
“Consuming so many nutrients contained in pastes is a quality substitute for synthetic vitamins. This is part of functional nutrition - a way of eating that involves eating natural, non-pill or encapsulated foods. With long-term practice of functional nutrition, a healing, therapeutic effect is observed. Thus, berry pastes are not just a tasty product, they are healthy food, sometimes surpassing the effect of the use of drugs (for example, we are talking about the benefits of blueberry paste for improving vision and stabilizing blood pressure), ”says LiQberry Marketing Director.
During the period of autumn colds and pandemics, the product looks very relevant.
“This is a powerful support for the immune system, so the introduction of such products into the diet today is more relevant than ever. If a person uses immunomodulators, there is simply a huge number of leukocytes. If you regularly eat pasta, the body reacts in a more complex and targeted manner, ”says Evgenia.
Over the 8 years of the company's existence, the range of products has expanded sufficiently. Now it is not only goodies from different types of berries, but also pasta with the addition of honey.
“One of my favorite pastes is blueberry. She can be called the brand ambassador, because she is the flagship of sales. It is with this product that we have done the most research. For example, the effect of consuming pasta on vision was studied at the Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy named after V.I. V.P. Filatov National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. Also popular is pasta from another useful culture - sea buckthorn, containing a high concentration of vitamins C, E, tocopherols. Lingonberries and cranberries are excellent natural antibiotics, and they also help reduce blood pressure, ”said a company representative.
“We have recently launched a new line of products - berry pastes with honey. They have become quite popular. We can add 10% honey to organic pastes. High temperatures are not used in the manufacture of the product, so honey retains all the beneficial properties. This makes the product sweeter and gives it new properties,” says LiQberry's marketing director.
According to Yevhenia Nechitailo, Ukrainians are increasingly interested in aspects of healthy eating and healthy products, in particular, berry pastes.
“The company has been on the market for 8 years already. During this time, interest in healthy eating and our products has increased. Sales volumes are currently growing + 15% per year. Before the quarantine, we were focused on export to Japan and the European market, but now it is a little more difficult with this, so we focused more on the domestic market. We sell pastas through supermarket chains. Our product is placed on superfood shelves or health food sections. Also, pastes are sold in pharmacies, in specialized organic food stores. In addition, we sell our products at our own sites, we sell them via the Internet, ”said a LiQberry representative.
Now there is a plant for the production of berry pastes not only in Ukraine, but also in Canada.
“They are interested in our development, processing by the cavitation method, in Canada. In this country, we have opened a factory for the production of blueberry paste. The product was awarded second place in the organic competition in Montreal. However, the quality of the pasta we produce in Ukraine is higher, since industrially grown berries are used in Canada, and we process wild-growing blueberries, which contain more useful elements, ”says Yevheniya Nechitailo.
