The normal development of the embryo of a bird is disturbed at a temperature of 27-36 ° C
The normal development of the bird embryo is disturbed at temperatures in the range of 27-36 ° C - some embryonic cells and structures grow, while others do not develop, writes the Our Poultry Breeding magazine.
Bird embryos are not able to independently maintain body temperature, that is, they behave like poikilothermic organisms. By the time of laying, the average egg temperature before laying is 40.3 °C, and after 2 hours it drops to 26 °C at a temperature in the poultry house of 23-25 °C and remains in these parameters for more than 4 hours.
In the process of embryogenesis, 2 main phases can be distinguished:
- endothermic - the first 6-7 days of incubation;
- exothermic - the last 8-10 days of incubation.
Between them there is also an isothermal stage, but its significance is not so important.
Eggs require different amounts of heat depending on the incubation period. After the demolition, the temperature of the egg decreases and the development of the embryo temporarily stops or stops completely if the temperature drops below the so-called physiological threshold (25-27 ° C). The embryo enters a state of suspended animation. In this case, the development of the embryo will continue only after the temperature around the egg becomes higher.
