In France, the labeling of the origin of meat, which is served in all catering establishments, will become mandatory from March 1, 2022.

The origin of pork, poultry, lamb, mutton served in cafeterias, restaurants, company restaurants must be indicated - as has been done for beef since 2002.
Meat origin labels must indicate the country in which the animal was raised and the country of slaughter for both fresh and chilled meat, as well as frozen or deep-frozen meat.
Such information about the origin of meat was already provided to consumers in supermarkets and butchers, but not in restaurants.
